The objective was to create a central element capable of best representing the brand’s identity.
Two elements were produced: a desk with a drawer unit consisting of a plywood structure clad in Grey Stone and Donatello lightweight marble, and a conference table featuring a plywood structure with Grey Stone lightweight marble cladding.
Regarding the desk, the aim was to create a table
that was simultaneously functional, impactful, and perfectly integrated into the exhibition space. Not a simple work surface, but a true piece of furniture.
For the conference table, the focus was on design and visual impact. In particular, a distinctive feature is the integrated storage system: a concealed drawer that, with a single gesture, reveals internal sockets and connections, meeting contemporary functional needs while keeping the purity of the surfaces intact.
CHALLENGES
The main challenge of the project was the engineering of the desk, specifically the integration of different materials. Careful study was required to ensure visual continuity and formal coherence in the joints, while maintaining high technical performance.
The marble processing was developed to integrate perfectly with the wood and metal components.
A further level of complexity was represented by the coordination of processes between heterogeneous materials: on one hand, marble, which requires precision and delicacy; on the other, the wooden elements, which require structural precision and control.
Another critical aspect was the assembly of the marble elements: as these were predominantly pieces with 45° miter cuts, extremely precise bonding was necessary to avoid the perception of joints and ensure continuity.
In this case as well, TB MARMI, thanks to advanced technical skills and high-level professional craftsmanship, succeeded in managing the complexities inherent in the fabrication of the two elements.
Specifically, the integration between the different components of the desk was made possible through a constant dialogue between design and production. This continuous collaboration allowed for the identification of the most suitable technical solution, ensuring both correct structural behavior and aesthetic consistency.
From the union of these skills, two objects were born that transcend their primary function, transforming into elements of strong architectural value, capable of expressing the artisanal quality, design research, and capacity for innovation that characterize the project.
