LIGHTWEIGHT MARBLE
We utilize every type of support to adapt to each technical specification. We construct furniture doors, tables, and large-scale walls, testing the mechanical resistance of our products in the laboratory.
The application possibilities for lightweight marble are vast and remain a daily focus of our research into innovation and technological knowledge.
BACKLIGHTING
The backlighting of certain natural materials is a truly fascinating component of our work. Materials that allow light to pass through them come to life, gaining a stunning communicative power for those who admire them. Nature lights up and becomes powerful.
We can apply various technologies to illuminate the material; the dominant emergence of LED technology has significantly increased the quality of the final result and facilitated the application of backlighting even in irregular geometric shapes or forms that were unfeasible in the recent past. We are able to illuminate special shapes from within, such as solid stone pedestal washbasins, table bases and statues, and ovoid-shaped decorative objects, in addition to more traditional floors and walls. A special chapter concerns the possibility of illuminating the doors of wardrobes, kitchens, and furniture in general, creating unique and spectacular effects with a system patented by TB Marmi.
LED applications also allow for changing the light source color, modifying intensity, and color “temperature”—varying the white tone from the now-classic “warm white” to the more modern “cool white” conveniently via Wi-Fi or web application.
TB Marmi is capable of fully designing, manufacturing, and installing compositions conceived by designers or directly by clients, even those of high complexity, including works that must resist water or be placed in humid environments, while always maintaining the highest quality criteria.
UNDERFLOOR or WALL HEATING
In specific situations, heating is required for the surfaces we create to ensure comfort in both flooring and vertical cladding. It is possible to have heated marble worktops or surfaces, shower seats and walls, as well as shower trays, entire bathroom floors, lounges, stairs, and multipurpose environments in general, located both indoors and outdoors. During the cold season, ice formation can be prevented and snow melting facilitated, while inside a bathroom, it provides significant comfort to sit on a heated shower bench or stand on a warm shower tray.
We can heat mirrors and walls to prevent condensation in humid environments or otherwise apply numerous heating technologies to any situation. TB Marmi will provide a complete service including electrical system design, manufacturing with components certified according to European and North American safety standards (EU=EN 60355-2-96 and USA=NEC regulations), and finally, installation. The technologies to be used will be evaluated based on the technical specifications of the project and can be powered by 24 / 110 / 230 / 380 Volts. Controls for managing heat sources can be handled via Wi-Fi, Web App, home automation, or more traditional controls such as programmable thermostats or temperature sensors.
NESTING
Before proceeding with the cut, each slab is photographed at high resolution and digitally imported. On that image, we virtually position the individual pieces of the project, deciding precisely where the veins, spots, and natural movements of the material will fall.
The result is a faithful preview of the final assembly: you can see in advance how the pieces will fit together, if the veins will continue uninterrupted from one element to another, how a book-match will look on a wall, or the continuity of a surface on an island with waterfall sides.
What this means in practice:
- The client approves the result before cutting, with no surprises on-site
- Continuity of veining between adjacent pieces
- Natural defects excluded or moved to non-visible areas
- Better slab yield and less waste
- Immediate changes: the layout is reviewed on screen, not on the material
